100 days of Homemaking Skills Series: Day 16 – How to clean Window Tracks – an easy way!

Cleaning up narrow places and corners gets a little difficult. The reason being they are hard to reach and are often neglected. But when you know the tricks to cleaning them, then they are a breeze to clean 😉 One such place in our houses is the window tracks. Cleaning the windows is kind of a regular task in the cleaning schedule, but how often do we clean the area below it. Hmmm in my case very rare. When I got to know of this little trick that cleans it in no time and makes it look like new, I decided to give it a try. And you know what, I was busy the rest of the noon cleaning all the window tracks my house has got. As I stood back looking at them shining like never before, I have to tell you, I am going to do this often. It’s really simple with very teeny tiny effort and will make you pat your back when done. 😉

Things needed:

2 tbsp Baking soda
1/2 cup Vinegar
Old rag
Butter knife
Ear buds

Sprinkle baking soda on the tracks. Pour vinegar over it. It will fizz up.
Wait for 2 mins.
Wipe with the rag. To reach the corner, wrap the knife with the rag and clean them. Use ear buds for those extreme corners.

Look at that shine!
